Natalia Marin | Project Lead

Natalia Marin, an independent art curator and medical student, based in Bucharest, Romania, leads the initiative in collaboration with The Fine Art Program and Collection at Montefiore Einstein. Her work focuses on the nexus between art and medicine, working with artists, doctors, researchers and academics from all around the world. She is the founder of a network for art and medicine and system for collaborative research, and has curated several exhibitions fusing art and science, bridging the gaps between these two fields. Her aim is to advance science education and to improve the life quality of both patients and their healthcare providers, by using art as a powerful tool for connection, communication and collaboration.

Jodi Moise is the Director of The Fine Art Program and Collection at Montefiore Einstein. She has been actively involved in the art world as a public art curator and corporate art director for the past twenty five years. With an expertise in integrating art into healthcare environments, she has developed and built art collections for major medical centers including the Mount Sinai Medical Center and NYU Langone Medical Center. She is responsible for the development of comprehensive visual arts programs of the highest quality in medical settings.

  • Suzanne Anker

    Visual artist and theorist working at the intersection of art and the biological sciences.Considered a pioneer in Bio Art, her practice investigates the ways in which nature is being altered in the 21st century. Concerned with genetics, climate change, species extinction and toxic degradation, she calls attention to the beauty of life and the “necessity for enlightened thinking about nature’s ‘tangled bank’.”

  • Federico Muelas Romero

    Media artist, cancer survivor and author of “T(H)UMOR: Dear Cancer Diary,...” Federico's academic pursuit led him to earn a master's degree in computer arts from the esteemed School of Visual Arts in NYC. Following the completion of his MFA, he transitioned seamlessly into the role of an art educator at the same institution, where he has passionately imparted knowledge for the past 17 years.

    Alex May is a British contemporary artist who explores how technology shapes our experiences of time, memory, and culture.
